Verbal & Written Communications
For Most Use Cases
For written communications, in most cases, the preference is to use Minnesota Carlson on first reference. Examples include articles, web pages, emails, ad copy, printed materials, etc. Minnesota Carlson or Carlson may be used in further references. Carlson School of Management is acceptable to use sparingly to vary word choice.
Example:
At Minnesota Carlson, the Full-Time MBA program provides great networking. Staff work hard to develop recruitment events. Carlson students appreciate the opportunity to meet with potential employers.
In Formal Communications
In formal written communications, use Carlson School of Management on first reference. Examples of this include commencement, program acceptance, event invitations, etc.
It is important to note that Minnesota Carlson refers to the preferred name of the school, not the school’s programs. If needed for context, the program name should be preceded by Carlson.
Correct:
The Full-Time MBA program elevates careers.
The Carlson Full-Time MBA program provides skill-building opportunities.
When used in conjunction with the school’s name, the following is acceptable: At [school], the [program]... or [The school’s] [program]...
Correct:

Visual Identity
In partnership with University Marketing Communications, we have created a new system of logos (also referred to as marks) for Minnesota Carlson.
Primary Logo
The Minnesota Carlson logo should be used in most use cases. The Minnesota Carlson logo is offered in 3 formats:
horizontal (preferred)
horizontal stacked (preferred)
2-line stacked (for use when space is limited)
The horizontal format is preferred, while the stacked version is available when space is limited.
The logos are graphic elements and should not be replicated using type in graphic design. They may not be altered in any way.
The Block M and Minnesota Carlson may be placed in separate locations in a design layout. In these cases, use the graphic file for Minnesota Carlson, not type/fonts.
